Armenian Homenmen (H.M.M.) Sporting Association

The Armenian Homenmen (HMM) Sporting Association is the sporting division of the Armenian Community Association of Australia Incorporated, registered in August 1983.

Background:
The Homenmen Sporting Association was founded in Aleppo, Syria in 1921 under the auspices of Social Democrat Hunchakian Party as its official sporting and scouting branch.
 

Objective:
The aim of the association is to organise and participate in sporting activities and competitions, facilitate sports coaching and training and provide appropriate sporting equipment.


The 'Homenmen' Basketball Team was established in Sydney in 1989 and has competed in the Parramatta and Northern Suburbs Basketball Association (NSBA) competitions. The Men's Basketball team, currently competes in the Northern Suburbs Competition and has advanced over 3 divisions in the past 3 years after reaching 2 consecutive Grand Finals as worthy NSBA champions.

A junior unisex basketball team is also in train.

'Homenmen' Soccer Team. Since 1987 the soccer team has been running its social games, every Saturday afternoon as well as organising community friendly games with other Armenian associations and local clubs.

A junior soccer team and an all-age soccer team are also in train.

The Armenian Homenmen (H.M.M) Sporting Association Committee is comprised of five members who oversee the daily management, care and training programs for the men's basketball and soccer teams.
